The political rift between the supporters of the former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Ganduje Umar the present governor of Kano state, has taken another dangerous dimension.
The incidence occurred at traditional Hawan Daushe in Kano Emirate Palace when the two political camps of Kwankwaso and incumbent state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, clashed.
Former Secretary to the Kano State government, Dr. Rabi”u Sulaiman Bichi and junior brother to Dr. Rabi”u Musa Kwankwaso were among the scores injured yesterday following a clash between the supporters.
The injured have been taken to the hospital and are currently being treated.Kwankwaso has been at loggerheads with his successor, Umar Ganduje.
In his reaction also, The state Commissioner of Information, Mr. Mohammad Garba, said the governor was not in the state when the violence occurred.
He said the governor and his team traveled to neighboring Katsina State to pay Sallah homage to President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura and that when the governor and his team returned to Kano, the emir’s palace was peaceful and the Hawan Daushe held peacefully.
Also in another event and video, supporters of the said politicians; Kwankwaso and Ganduje where screaming; “Allahu Akbar” while clashing during Sallah festive period in Kano State, many of them got the beating of their lives that day, many skulls got broken and eyes given proper bashing. In the meantime, the two APC politicians are busy enjoying their own lives.
