The Nigerian Airforce on Tuesday 8th of August 2017, inducted another five super mushshak training aircraft to further enhance her pilot’s training skills in the drive to combat Bokoharam activities.
The newly inducted aircraft where the NAF’s first batch of 10 Super Mushshak aircraft procured from Pakistan, which primary role was for training of NAF pilots at 401 Flying Training School Kaduna, was received on arrival by the country’s Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Chris Okoye. The aircraft inducted are fitted with a modern glass cockpit and avionics to meet current global aviation standard.
At the induction ceremony, the acting president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who was represented by the minister of Defence, Mansur Mohammed Dan Ali, stated that the presidency commitment in the area of major security policy thrusts of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
At the same time, 16 ab-initio student pilots, including 2 female cadets, graduated from the 401 FTS. It is significant to note that it was the first time in over 30 years that NAF cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna would be graduating from flying training before being commissioned as officers.
The aircraft is already in service with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iran, Iraq, Qatar and South Africa.
